The Blind Idealist's Black Dog
Gallery Four

This exhibition draws the viewer's attention to the brief and ill-fated 1850s whaling settlement on the Auckland Islands. The sculpture, which takes the form of garments, allows the viewer to reflect on the existence of the settlement in such a remote and inhospitable place. Imagery of whales, endemic flora and fauna and vestigal physical evidence, are referenced in the works.
