Malu Minar (Sea pattern) is an exhibition of art from the Torres Strait islands. This seminal international touring exhibition of 29 indigenous works features printmaking, painting, ceremonial headdresses, and sculptural works that manifest from traditional practice and belief systems anchored in mythology, daily activity and cultural lore. It showcases the emergence of a contemporary art tradition that explores issues of colonisation, Christianity, environment, the realities of globalisation and the maintenance of culture. This is a unique collection of visual material from Far North Queensland, Australia.

A Cairns Regional Gallery International Travelling Exhibition.
